El Presidente

This was taken from Hope's iphone.  Todd and Hope "know someone" who "knows someone" and they got to sit directly behind President Obama in the second row as he was speaking in downtown Fort Myers.  She shook his hand and explained to me that she wanted to say something proufound, but all that came out was a high pitched "HI."  It is pretty cool, I can't say that I have ever been this close to El Presidente.  I could see them on TV when he was answering questions from the crowd.  I should look for that footage on the internet.

IKEA

I just had to post my new favorite item.  Along with the super cool and cheap flooring we purchased for our Master bedroom, we also found this fun print at the "AS-IS" section in IKEA.
It fits  our fun modern flair and is an homage to our animal-loving children.

MUCHO DINERO down the drain

WATCH THIS VIDEO

This is kinda scary.  Have you heard of this super collider 17 miles underground that cost $9 billion dollars.  yes $ 9 billion!  It is the most expensive science experiment ever.  Designed to re-create the microseconds after the supposed Big Bang.  Apparently, the scientists think they are going to figure out how our Universe was created.  I know a much cheaper way to find out, READ THE BIBLE!.  The scary thing is that opponents say that this experiment will create a black hole in the earth and the earth will be swallowed up and destroyed.  The scientist don't deny the possibility of the black hole, but say it will be so small that it won't affect the planet.
Think of all the good they could do  in the world with $9 billion dollars, maybe, help end world hunger, contribute to the AIDS crisis and Genocide in Africa, Put an end to Human Trafficking.  But instead they use it to play GOD!  RIDICULOSO!

They may be debating the beginning of time,
but I the Bible explains the Beginning and Ending!!!
I just read this passage this morning

I Thessalonians 4: 16-18     "For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.  Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.  AND THUS WE SHALL ALWAYS BE WITH THE LORD.  Therefore comfort one another with these words."

That is exciting to me!
2 Tim 1:12  "For i know whom I have believed and am persuaded that he is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that day."

Prayer Request

Today we need to be in prayer for Jameson Setsma and his family.
Mike and I went to College with JT's parents Todd and Melisa.

He was born in July 2008 with a disease called Epidermolysis Bullosa.
It is a rare skin disease in which the skin blisters and falls off and has a difficult time re-growing. Jameson needs to be bandaged from head to toe and is very fragile, on top of this he has a hernia and an infection in his blood.

You can read their latest blog entry here.

Jameson is scheduled for his Hernia Surgery TODAY.  The family is asking prayer for no complications as this is very possible for an infant with this disease.

Lord, I pray for Protection of Jameson's body inside and out.  I pray for the the doctor's wisdom and careful hands in performing surgery and treating this beautiful baby.  I pray for his parents and family members that you will Give them Overwhelming peace, Sufficient grace, and Tender mercy.  Thank you for being a GOD that is bigger than our Circumstances and for walking with this family every step of the way and never leaving them.
Please let there be no complications of any kind in the surgery and let Jameson come through smiling and ready to tackle a new day.
May your name be praised, Lord God
AMEN

Free Flour

I believe this site is done by the Free Rice people.  But this is geared to questions about geography.  I am not so good at it, each correct answer donates one spoon of flour and 100 spoons of flour equals one loaf of bread.  They claim that yesterday, 3,292 spoon of flour were donated through their website.  Check it out!

The One Negative

Yep, here it is!!
It really happened!!
I have been contemplating whether or not i should post about this.

When we were young, my mom would tell us that it takes 11 positive things to erase one negative.  The lesson is that one negative comment is as powerful as 11 positive comments.  She would also say, "If you don't have anything positive to say, don't say anything at all."

Well,
I mentioned my 11 positives in the last post....so here is the negative.
A fly in my latte and only a 10 dollar gift card from Starbucks as an apology.

Honestly it might just be 11 months before i can ever go to a Starbucks again.

Let's just say, I still have a bad taste in my mouth!!!!!!

11 Random things I am loving right now.

This randomness has increased my interest in the areas of politics & the economy, cooking, friendships, philanthropy, home design, exercise, family, food, and fun.  I am drawn to the humorous, creative, inspiring, and insightful things that make me laugh, think, and act.
Here is the list so you can enjoy them too.

1) Arizona's Arnold Palmer Iced Tea with Lemonade
The perfect blend of 1/2 Tea & 1/2 lemonade.
I could drink a gallon!
2) Facebook
Reconnecting with some old friends has been fun and easy.  It is great seeing how people have matured and grown in their walk with the Lord over the past decade.

A wonderful place for inexpensive, handmade and creative gifts.
Just like these adorable pendants from the seller CaughtRedHanded.
The first one was hope's present last year, she just might be getting the dandelion this year. :)

I am addicted to this website, if only i could remember the big words after i play the game.
For each word you get right, 20 grains of rice is donated through the UN World Food Program to help end hunger.  It goes to level 60, I have only reached level 40 once, but mostly i stay around level 35.

By far my favorite design site right now, too bad i can't afford much from here, but i love getting ideas.

This site is so creative and the best one out there for all the influx of sites selling wall stickers.  We bought the race track for the boys play room.  their products are durable and easy to peel and they re-stick so you don't mess up the paint.  This is the picture of how we used it on our wall.

Another favorite site to check for ideas with our master bedroom project.  This store is much more affordable.  .

I listen to his radio show on 1240 AM radio.  He is really funny, straight to the point, and does a great job at clearly explaining what is happening in the economy right now.

Funny Funny Funny
i have been watching his re-runs during the kids nap time on Comedy Channel at 2:30 pm.

Getting me in shape for my participation in The Human Race 10k
If only i had a Nike+ ipod and shoe computer thingy, i would be all set to enter.

11) Everyday with Rachael Ray
This magazine is better than I expected it to be.  It is filled with recipes that are simple and really tasty.

Free Rice

Free Rice is a cool website.  I played this word association game and was able to donate 500 grains of rice.  One correct word equals 20 grains of rice. the website claims that 5,027,880 grains of rice donated yesterday.
Over 39 billion grains donated to date

Who pays for the donated rice?
"The rice is paid for by the sponsors whose names you see on the bottom of your vocabulary screen when you enter a correct answer. These sponsors support both learning (free vocabulary for everyone) and reducing hunger (free rice for the hungry). We thank these sponsors for their participation at FreeRice."

so click on the link and see how word smart you are, as well, you can feel like a philanthropist.
