Hey, here is an important prayer request. One of my friends from College, has a friend in San Diego that went into premature labor. The baby was born at 1 pound and a few oz. You can check out their blog here it is very informative and inspirational. Pray that this little warrior will continue to improve.

race for the cure
Today was the day.
I ran in the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure 5K.
It was a ton of fun, with about 6,000 participants. My goal was to run the entire race without stopping, and i accomplished it!. A far cry from a few years ago. 3 miles used to be an easy run. I am old and out of shape now. But i loved the motivation and would love to keep doing races. I am proud of my sister Heather, who has not been a consistent runner either and she finished the race with a fast sprint at the end. I think this will be an annual race for me.

Adventure Day
Today we started out for U-pick strawberries. We had a pit-stop at Woodsmoke to meet up with Heather and the girls. The Men were cutting down the paper trees and the kids were enthralled with watching.
Then we headed for the U-pick farm right here in town. Sadly the farmers didn't grow any strawberries this year, so we had to pick tomatoes. The kids still had fun and Heather is going to make some yummy salsa with the tomatoes. We also bought some yummy fruits and veggies at the market there. We used to go there as kids and have fond memories of the smell of fresh produce.

Delicioso

I tried a recipe from buildabelly.blogspot.com
Cinnamon Oatmeal pancakes. Caeden helped me make them. We topped the pancakes with Vanilla Yogurt and Slices of Nectarines. My my my......they were yummy. The picture was taken with the photo booth, so not so great of a shot. I think i made them a little too thick also, because when i walked away from the mixture, caeden poured in more rolled oats. Oh well, first time. I love teaching my boys how to cook.
